Philippine Dreamcatcher  – Dream 001

The Philippine Dreamcatcher is a line of Philippine souvenirs by Subida Souvenirs.  We present our artists’ own local reinterpretation of the iconic dreamcatcher.   In its basic form a dreamcatcher is made up of a hoop across a net or “web” is woven which is believed to catch dreams while sparing the sleeper by keeping the nightmares away.

Our take on the dreamcatcher closely follows the original design, albeit using readily available indigenous materials like coconut shells, twine and colorful stones and wooden beads. Our shaman artist add a final decorative flourish by attaching one-of-a-kind adornments in the middle of each web.

Even when considered purely as physical objects, our dreamcatchers make beautiful gifts, keepsakes, adornments.  Finally, this Philippine souvenir is a great conversation piece.
